We gave Moses the Book, but differences were created concerning it: and had it not been for a word that had already gone forth from your Lord, the matter would have been decided between them; and certainly they are in grave doubt about it. 45 Whoso doeth right it is for his soul, and whoso doeth wrong it is against it. And thy Lord is not at all a tyrant to His slaves. 46 ۞ To Him is referred the knowledge of the Hour. No fruit sprouts forth from its sheath, no female conceives or is delivered, except with His Knowledge. On the Day He will call to them: 'Where then are My associates' they will reply: 'We proclaim to You that none of us can bear witness' 47 And those whom they used to invoke before will fail them, and they will perceive that they have no place of refuge (from Allah's punishment). 48 Man tireth not of praying for good, and if ill toucheth him, then he is disheartened, desperate. 49 And, surely, if We cause him to taste mercy from Us after affliction hath touched him, he is sure to say: this is my own, and I deem not that the Hour will ever arise, and were I to be brought back to my Lord, verily there will be for me, with Him, an excellent condition. But We shall surely declare unto those who disbelieve that which they have worked, and We shall surely make them taste a torment rough. 50 When We show favour unto man, he withdraweth and turneth aside, but when ill toucheth him then he aboundeth in prayer. 51 Say, "Have you considered: if the Qur'an is from Allah and you disbelieved in it, who would be more astray than one who is in extreme dissension?" 52 We shall show them Our signs in the horizons and in themselves, till it is clear to them that it is the truth. Suffices it not as to thy Lord, that He is witness over everything? 53 Are they not in doubt concerning the Meeting with their Lord? Attention, He encompasses everything. 54
