Have you seen him who turns his back, 33 And gives a little and (then) withholds. 34 Hath he knowledge of the Unseen so that he seeth? 35 Did not the news reach him, of that which is mentioned in the Books of Moosa? 36 And of Ibrahim, who was most obedient? 37 that no soul shall bear the burden of another; 38 That a man receives but only that for which he strives; 39 And that his striving shall soon be seen- 40 and in the end he will be repaid for it in full; 41 And that to your Lord is the goal- 42 It is He who causes laughter and weeping. 43 It is He who causes death and gives life. 44 And that He (Allah) creates the pairs, male and female, 45 out of a [mere] drop of sperm as it is poured forth, 46 and that upon Him is the second creation 47 and that it is He who gives wealth and riches, 48 And that He is the Lord of the Sirius; 49 And that He destroyed the former 'A-ad. 50 and Thamud tribes, 51 as well as the people of Noah before them - [since,] verily, they all had been most willful in their evildoing and most overweening 52 And that it is He Who threw down the upturned townships? 53 and caused them to be covered with that which He covered them with. 54 So O listener! Which favour of your Lord will you doubt? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The Day of Resurrection draws near, 57 None except Allah can avert it. 58 Are you astonished at this news, 59 and do you laugh, and do you not weep, 60 Wasting your time in vanities? 61 So make obeisance to Allah and serve (Him). ۩ 62
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Stars (Al-Najm). Sent down in Mecca after Absoluteness (Al-Ikhlaas) before He Frowned ('Abasa)
