Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Inevitable Calamity! 1 What is the Indubitable? 2 What do you comprehend by the concrete reality? 3 Thamood and Aad belied the Clatterer. 4 Then the Thamud were destroyed by an awesome upheaval; 5 And the 'Ad were destroyed by the furious cold blast of roaring wind 6 Which Allah imposed on them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that you could see men lying overthrown (destroyed), as if they were hollow trunks of date-palms! 7 Do you see any trace of them? 8 And Pharaoh and those before him, and the communities that were destroyed, brought error, 9 They therefore disobeyed the Noble Messengers of their Lord – so He seized them with an intense seizure. 10 Verily! When the water rose beyond its limits [Nuh's (Noah) Flood], We carried you (mankind) in the floating [ship that was constructed by Nuh (Noah)]. 11 That We might make it unto you an admonition, and that it might be retained by the retaining ears. 12 Then when the Trumpet will be blown with one blowing (the first one), 13 And the earth and the mountains shall be removed from their places, and crushed with a single crushing, 14 On that day shall the great event come to pass, 15 The heaven will be split; because on that Day it will be frail. 16 And the angels are at its edges. And there will bear the Throne of your Lord above them, that Day, eight [of them]. 17 On that day all your secrets will be exposed. 18 Then, as for him who is given his record in his right hand, he will say: Take, read my book! 19 "Surely, I did believe that I shall meet my Account!" 20 And he will be in a life of Bliss, 21 In a lofty Garden – 22 its clusters nigh to gather. 23 We shall say to him, "Eat and drink joyfully as a reward for the good deeds you did in days gone by." 24 But as for him who is given his book in his left hand, he shall say, 'Would that I had not been given my book 25 "And that I had never known, how my Account is? 26 “Alas, if only it had been just death.” 27 "Of no profit to me has been my wealth! 28 My authority is gone away from me. 29 (The stern command will say): "Seize ye him, and bind ye him, 30 And then expose him to hell-fire 31 Fasten a chain to them - seventy cubits long - 32 Indeed, he did not use to believe in Allah, the Most Great, 33 Nor did he encourage the feeding of the poor. 34 and so, no friend has here today, 35 “Nor any food except the pus discharged from the people of hell.” 36 Which none but the wrongdoers eat. 37
