Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 But nay! I call to witness the accusing voice of man's own conscience! 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Indeed yes, We are able to shape his fingerstips yet again! 4 Yet man is sceptical of what is right before him. 5 He asketh: when will the Day of Resurrection be? 6 So when the eyes will be blinded by light. 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and moon are conjoined, 9 Man shall say on that day: Whither to fly to? 10 But there is nowhere to take refuge: 11 Before thy Lord (alone), that Day will be the place of rest. 12 Man will be informed that Day of what he sent ahead and kept back. 13 Indeed, man shall be a witness against himself, 14 Although he may put forth his pleas. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 Indeed assembling the Qur’an and reading it are upon Us. 17 So when We have recited it [through Gabriel], then follow its recitation. 18 It's explanation is upon Us. 19 No indeed; but you love the hasty world, 20 And leave alone the Hereafter. 21 Some faces that Day shall be Nadirah (shining and radiant). 22 looking up to their Sustainer; 23 and upon that day faces shall be scowling, 24 Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking. 25 Nay, when (the soul) reaches to the collar bone (i.e. up to the throat in its exit), 26 and the angels say, "Who will take away his soul, 27 and he knows that it is the time of parting; 28 And leg will be joined with another leg (shrouded) 29 On that Day you will be driven to your Lord. 30
