Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the winds (or angels or the Messengers of Allah) sent forth one after another. 1 Then by oath of those that push with a strong gust. 2 By the spreading winds spreading. 3 And those [angels] who bring criterion 4 and those (angels) dropping, reminding 5 excusing or warning, 6 Indeed what you are promised, will surely befall. 7 Then when the stars lose their lights; 8 And when the heaven is cloven asunder. 9 when the mountains shall be scattered 10 and the appointed time to bring the Messengers together arrives, (then shall the promised event come to pass). 11 For which day were they appointed? 12 Upon the Day of Decision! 13 And what knowest thou what the Day of Decision is? 14 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier people? 16 Then did We follow them up with later ones. 17 As such shall We deal with the sinners. 18 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 19 Created We you not of water despicable, 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 For a known calculated term. 22 So We proportion it-- how well are We at proportioning (things). 23 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle? 25 Of the living and the dead? 26 And We placed high mountains as anchors in it and gave you sweet water to drink. 27 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 Go to the shadow with three ramifications, 30 which neither gives shade nor protects one from the flames. 31 Surely it sends up sparks like palaces, 32 and yellow camels. 33 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 34 That will be the Day on which they will not (be able to) utter a word, 35 Nor given leave to make excuses. 36 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 37 'This is the Day of Decision; We have joined you with the ancients; 38 So if you have a plan, then plan against Me. 39 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 40
