Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is cleft asunder, 1 when the stars are scattered, 2 when the oceans are gushed forth, 3 And when the [contents of] graves are scattered, 4 Each soul shall know that which it sent afore and that which it left behind. 5 O man! what hath beguiled thee concerning thy Lord, the Bountiful, 6 The One Who created you, then moulded you, then made you proper? 7 Into whatever form He pleased He constituted you. 8 Nay, [O men,] but you [are lured away from God whenever you are tempted to] give the lie to [God's] Judgment! 9 And yet, verily, there are ever-watchful forces over you, 10 noble, writers 11 who know whatever you do. 12 Most surely the righteous are in bliss, 13 And verily, the Fujjar (the wicked, disbelievers, sinners and evil-doers) will be in the blazing Fire (Hell), 14 They shall enter it on the day of judgment. 15 And thence they shall not be allowed to be absent. 16 And what could make thee conceive what that Judgment Day will be? 17 Again, what shall make thee know whatsoever the Day of Requital is? 18 It will be a Day when no human being shall be of the least avail to any other human being, God [alone] will hold command on that Day. 19
