The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 in obedience to the commands of their Lord which are incumbent on them, 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 And has cast out all that was in it and became empty, 4 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should. 5 O man, you are striving unto your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then whoso is given his account in his right hand 7 He truly will receive an easy reckoning 8 And he will return to his family rejoicing. 9 But he who is given his Record behind his back,- 10 Will pray for death, 11 and he will enter the blazing flame. 12 He used to be happy with his own people; 13 Truly, did he think that he would not have to return (to Us)! 14 This is a fact. Their Lord is Well-Aware of (all that they do). 15 But nay! I swear by the sunset redness, 16 And by the night and that which it driveth together, 17 And by the moon when she becometh full. 18 You will surely go up level by level. 19 What aileth them then, that they believe not, 20 and when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 Nay, but those who disbelieve will deny; 22 Yet God has full knowledge of what they conceal [in their hearts]. 23 Therefore give them the glad tidings of a painful punishment. 24 Except those who believe and do the right: For them there is reward unending. 25
