Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Have you received the news of the Enveloper? 1 Faces on that day humbled, 2 Labouring, striving hard. 3 they shall enter a burning Fire 4 The while they are given, to drink, of a boiling hot spring, 5 No food for them save the bitterness of dry thorns, 6 Which shall neither nourish nor avail against hunger. 7 In that day other faces will be calm, 8 Well-pleased because of their striving, 9 in a garden sublime, 10 Never hearing idle talk. 11 Therein will be a running spring, 12 raised couches, 13 And goblets ready placed! 14 And cushions set in rows, 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created? 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And the mountains – how they have been established? 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Therefore remind, you are only a Reminder. 21 You are not a watcher over them; 22 But whoever turns back and denies the truth, 23 Allah will chastise him with the most terrible chastisement. 24 Verily, to Us will be their return; 25 Then indeed only upon Us is their reckoning. 26
