In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Read (Prophet Muhammad) in the Name of your Lord who created, 1 created man from a clot of congealed blood. 2 Proclaim! And thy Lord is Most Bountiful,- 3 who taught by the pen, 4 taught the human what he did not know. 5 And yet, but yet man is rebellious, 6 whenever he believes himself to be self-sufficient: 7 Verily, to thy Lord is the return (of all). 8 Have you seen one who prevents 9 A bondman when he offers the prayer? 10 Bethinkest thou, if he is himself guided, 11 Or he commandeth piety? 12 Have you seen if he denies and turns away - 13 Knoweth he not that Allah doth see? 14 Let him beware! If he does not desist, We will drag him by the forelock -- 15 The lying, sinful forelock - 16 So let him call his associates, 17 We will call on the angels of punishment (to deal with him)! 18 No indeed; do thou not obey him, and bow thyself, and draw nigh. ۩ 19
