The Spider (Al-Ankaboot)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Alif-Lam-Mim. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings.] 1 Do people think that they will be let go merely by saying: “We believe,” and that they will not be tested, 2 We tried those who have gone before them. Allah knows those who are truthful and those who lie. 3 Or do they reckon, those who do evil deeds, that they will outstrip Us? Ill they judge! 4 Whoever expects to meet Allah – then indeed the time appointed by Allah will come; and He is the All Hearing, the All Knowing. 5 And if any strive (with might and main), they do so for their own souls: for Allah is free of all needs from all creation. 6 We shall expiate the sins of the righteously striving believers and shall reward them better than their deeds. 7 We have charged the human to be kind to his parents. But if they bid you to associate with Me that which you have no knowledge, do not obey them. To Me you will return, and I shall inform you of all that you have done. 8 And those who believe and work righteous works - We shall surely cause them to enter among the righteous. 9 There are among men those who say: "We believe in God;" yet if they happen to suffer in the cause of God they take oppression by men as punishment from God. And if help comes to them from your Lord, they say: "We were with you." Does not God know what is hidden in the hearts of men? 10 And surely Allah shall come to know those who believe, and surely He shall come to know the hypocrites. 11 The unbelievers say to the believers. "Follow our way. We shall take the responsibility for your sins." They cannot take responsibility for any of the sins. They are only liars. 12 And surely they shall bear their loads and other loads beside their own loads, and surely they shall be questioned on the Day of Resurrection concerning that which they were wont to fabricate. 13
