Therefore proclaim thou the praises (of thy Lord): for by the Grace of thy Lord, thou art no (vulgar) soothsayer, nor art thou one possessed. 29 Or do they say: “He is a poet for whom we await an adverse turn of fortune.” 30 Say (unto them): Except (your fill)! Lo! I am with you among the expectant. 31 Do their minds prompt them to say such things, or are they a people immersed in transgression?” 32 Do they say, "He has falsely invented it (the Quran)?" In fact, they themselves have no faith. 33 Let them produce a phrase like it, if what they say is true! 34 Or were they created out of naught? Or are they the creators? 35 Created they the heavens and the earth! Aye! they will not be convinced. 36 Or do they have your Lord's treasures in their keeping? Or have absolute authority over them? 37 Or have they a ladder whereon they listen? Then let any of them that has listened bring a clear authority. 38 Does God have daughters while you have sons? 39 Or askest thou (Muhammad) a fee from them so that they are plunged in debt? 40 Or is the Unseen in their keeping, and so they are writing it down? 41 Or do they intend a plan? But those who disbelieve - they are the object of a plan. 42 Have they, then, any deity other than God? Utterly remote is God, in His limitless glory, from anything to which men may ascribe a share in His divinity! 43 If they should see a part of the heavens falling down, they would say, "A mass of clouds," 44 So leave them until they meet their Day in which they will be struck insensible - 45 The Day their plan will not avail them at all, nor will they be helped. 46 And surely those who are unjust shall have a punishment besides that (in the world), but most of them do not know. 47 Now await in patience the command of thy Lord: for verily thou art in Our eyes: and celebrate the praises of thy Lord the while thou standest forth, 48 And in a part of the night exalt Him and after [the setting of] the stars. 49
