The Stars (Al-Najm)
62 verses, revealed in Mecca after Absoluteness (Al-Ikhlaas) before He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the star when it goes down, (or vanishes). 1 This fellow-man of yours has not gone astray, nor is he deluded, 2 And he does not say anything by his own desire. 3 It is a revelations which has been revealed to him 4 One of mighty powers hath taught it him. 5 [an angel] endowed with surpassing power, who in time manifested himself in his true shape and nature, 6 And he is in the highest part of the horizon. 7 He (Gabriel) then came nearer and nearer. 8 until he was two bow-lengths away or even closer 9 So did (Allah) convey the Inspiration to His slave [Muhammad SAW through Jibrael (Gabriel)]. 10 The (Prophet's) (mind and) heart in no way falsified that which he saw. 11 Will you then argue with him about what he saw? 12 He saw Him indeed another time 13 Near Sidrat-ul-Muntaha [lote-tree of the utmost boundary (beyond which none can pass)], 14 Nigh unto which is the Garden of Abode. 15 When that covered the lote-tree which covered it. 16 The eye turned not aside nor yet was overbold. 17 and he certainly saw some of the greatest Signs of His Lord. 18 (Can anything as such be considered true) of al-Lat, al-Uzza, 19 And Manat (another idol of the pagan Arabs), the other third? 20 "What! For you the males and for Him the females?" 21 That indeed were an unfair division! 22 They are but names, named by you and your fathers. Allah has not sent down any authority for them. They follow conjecture and their soul's desire, eventhough the guidance of their Lord has come to them. 23 Does man imagine that it is his due to have all that he might wish for, 24 All that is in the life to come and all that is in this life belongs only to God. 25

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
