It is God who sends down water from the sky for you to drink and produces plants as pasture for your cattle. 10 Therewith He causeth crops to grow for you, and the olive and the date-palm and grapes and all kinds of fruit. Lo! herein is indeed a portent for people who reflect. 11 God has made the day and the night, the sun and the moon, and all the stars subservient to you by His command. In this there is evidence of the truth for people of understanding. 12 On the earth He has fashioned for you objects of various hues: there is certainly a sign in that for people who pay heed. 13 It is He who has subjected the sea to you, so that you eat of its soft flesh and bring up from it ornaments which you wear. And you see the ships plowing their course through it in order that you seek His bounty and give thanks. 14 And He has set up on the earth mountains standing firm, lest it should shake with you; and rivers and roads; that ye may guide yourselves; 15 And also landmarks; and by the stars they are guided. 16 Then is He who creates like one who does not create? So will you not be reminded? 17 And if you enumerate the favours of Allah, you will never be able to count them; indeed Allah is Oft Forgiving, Most Merciful. 18 and God knows all that you keep secret as well as all that you bring into the open. 19 Those whom they (Al-Mushrikun) invoke besides Allah have not created anything, but are themselves created. 20 They are, [in fact], dead, not alive, and they do not perceive when they will be resurrected. 21
