[Musa (Moses)] said: "O my Lord! Open for me my chest (grant me self-confidence, contentment, and boldness). 25 And make my mission easy. 26 And loose the knot from my tongue, 27 (That) they may understand my word; 28 "And give me a Minister from my family, 29 "Harun (Aaron), my brother; 30 "Add to my strength through him, 31 "And let him share my task (of conveying Allah's Message and Prophethood), 32 so that we may glorify 33 And may make mention of Thee oft. 34 Surely You know us well." 35 He said: Thou art granted thy request, O Moses. 36 "And indeed We conferred a favour on thee another time (before). 37 When We revealed to your mother what was revealed; 38 to lace her child in a chest and throw it into the sea which would hurl it towards the shore. Then an enemy of Mine who was also the enemy of the child would pick it up from there. I made you attractive and loveable so that you would be reared before My own eyes. 39 "When your sister went and said: 'Shall I show you one who will nurse him?' So We restored you to your mother, that she might cool her eyes and she should not grieve. Then you did kill a man, but We saved you from great distress and tried you with a heavy trial. Then you stayed a number of years with the people of Madyan (Midian). Then you came here according to the fixed term which I ordained (for you), O Musa (Moses)! 40 I have chosen you for Myself. 41 "Go you and your brother with My Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.), and do not, you both, slacken and become weak in My Remembrance. 42 Go both to Firon, surely he has become inordinate; 43 Speak to him with gentle words; perhaps he will ponder or fear' 44 They said: Our Lord! Lo! we fear that he may be beforehand with us or that he may play the tyrant. 45 God said, "Do not fear; I am with you both. I hear and I see. 46 They came to the Pharaoh and told him that they were the Messengerss of his Lord and that they wanted him to let the Israelites go with them and stop afflicting the Israelites with torment. They told the Pharaoh, "We have brought miracles from Our Creator. Peace be with those who follow the right guidance. 47 Verily we! it hath been revealed unto us that the torment will be for him who belieth and turneth away. 48 Pharaoh said:" Moses! Who is the Lord of the two of you?" 49 (Moses) said: "Our Lord is He who gave everything its natural form and directed it." 50 Said Firaun, “What is the state of the former generations?” 51 Said Moses, 'The knowledge of them is with my Lord, in a Book; my Lord goes not astray, nor forgets -- 52 Who hath appointed the earth as a bed and hath threaded roads for you therein and hath sent down water from the sky and thereby We have brought forth divers kinds of vegetation, 53 so eat and graze your cattle. In this there are signs for men of understanding. 54
