Say: 'O my Lord, if Thou shouldst show me that they are promised, 93 O my Lord, do not put me among the harmdoing people' 94 Indeed, We are able to show you that which We promised them. 95 Repel evil with what is best, We are well aware of the things they say, 96 And submit, “My Lord! I seek Your refuge from the instigation of the devils.” 97 I even seek Your refuge, my Lord, lest they should approach me." 98 [AS FOR THOSE who will not believe in the life to come, they go on lying to themselves] until, when death approaches any of them, he prays: "O my Sustainer! Let me return, let me return [to life,] 99 That I may work righteously in that which I have left. By no means! It is but a word he uttereth; and before them is a barrier until the Day when they shall be raised. 100 And when the Horn is blown, on that Day their ties of kindred shall be no more, nor will they ask each other. 101 And those whose scales are heavy [with good deeds] - it is they who are the successful. 102 And the ones whose scales prove light – it is they who put their lives into ruin, remaining in hell forever. 103 The Fire will sear their faces, and they therein will have taut smiles. 104 (We shall say): 'Were My verses not recited to you, and did you not belie them' 105 They will say, "Our Lord, our wretchedness overcame us, and we were a people astray. 106 Our Lord! Take us out of this. Then if we revert (to evil-doing) we shall indeed be wrongdoers." 107 He shall say: slink away there unto, and speak not unto Me. 108 There was a section among My creatures that said: 'O Lord, we believe. Forgive us and have mercy upon us, for You are the best of the merciful.' 109 But you ridiculed them. So much so that out of (spite) for them you forgot to remember Me and laughed at them. 110 Verily I have recompensed them today, for they bore patiently, verily they are the achievers. 111 And He will ask: 'How many years did you live on earth' 112 They will say: "We stayed a day or part of a day. Ask of those who keep account." 113 God will say, "You have indeed remained there for a short time. Would that you knew it during your life time. 114 "Do you imagine that We created you without any purpose and that you would not be brought back to Us?" 115 Now Allah be Exalted, the True King! There is no Allah save Him, the Lord of the Throne of Grace. 116 And whoever invokes with Allah another god-- he has no proof of this-- his reckoning is only with his Lord; surely the unbelievers shall not be successful. 117 Hence, [O believer,] say: "O my Sustainer! Grant [me] forgiveness and bestow Thy mercy [upon me]: for Thou art the truest bestower of mercy!" 118
