The people of Lot denied the messengers 160 When their brother Lut said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)? 161 I am a trustworthy Messenger. 162 so fear God and obey me. 163 "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the lord of the Worlds. 164 "Of all the creatures in the world, will ye approach males, 165 and leave your wives whom your Lord has created for you? No, but you are a transgressing nation' 166 They said, “O Lut, if you do not desist, you will be expelled.” 167 [Lot] exclaimed: "Behold, I am one of those who utterly abhor your doings!" 168 My Lord, deliver me and my family from their wicked deeds." 169 So We saved him and his family, all, 170 Except an old woman among those who remained behind. 171 Then We utterly destroyed the others. 172 And We rained upon them a rain [of stones], and evil was the rain of those who were warned. 173 Verily in this was a sign, but most of them do not believe. 174 Your Lord, He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 175
