۞ O men, you are the ones that have need of God; He is the All-sufficient, the All-laudable. 15 If He will, He can be rid of you and bring (instead of you) some new creation. 16 That surely is not difficult for Allah. 17 And no burdened soul will carry another soul’s burden; and if a burdened soul calls another to share the burden, no one will carry any part of it, even if he is a close relative; O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), your warning only benefits those who fear their Lord without seeing and who keep the prayer established; and whoever cleansed himself, has cleansed for his own benefit; and towards Allah only is the return. 18 Not alike are the blind and the seeing. 19 nor are the depths of darkness and the light; 20 nor cool shade and torrid heat; 21 nor are the living and the dead. God causes whom He will to hear Him, but you cannot make those who are in their graves hear you. 22 You are but a warner, 23 We have sent you with the truth, to give glad tidings and to warn. Never has there been a community to which an admonisher was not sent. 24 If they cry thee lies, those before them also cried lies; their Messengers came to them with the clear signs, the Psalms, the Illuminating Book; 25 Then I took hold of those who disbelieved, and how terrible was My denial (punishment)! 26
