3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
Noah called for help. How blessed was the answer which he received. 75 We delivered him and his household from the great calamity; 76 And We preserved his descendants. 77 And left (his name) for posterity. 78 'Peace be upon Noah among all the worlds' 79 Verily, thus We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 80 Surely he was among Our faithful creatures. 81 Afterwards We drowned the others. 82 ۞ And verily of his sect was Ibrahim. 83 Behold! he approached his Lord with a sound heart. 84 when he said to his father and his folk, 'What do you serve? 85 Is it a falsehood - gods beside Allah - that ye desire? 86 What then is your opinion of the Lord of the Worlds? 87 And he cast a glance at the stars, 88 And he said: "Verily, I am sick (with plague. He did this trick to remain in their temple of idols to destroy them and not to accompany them to the pagan's feast)." 89 So they departed from him turning their backs. 90 Then he went quietly to the (temple of the deities) and said: “What is the matter with you, why do you not eat? 91 What is amiss with you that you do not speak?" 92 Then did he turn upon them, striking (them) with the right hand. 93 Thereupon the people came running to him. 94 He said, 'Do you serve what you hew, 95 "While Allah has created you and what you make!" 96 They exclaimed: "Build a pyre for him, and cast him into the blazing fire!" 97 They desired to outwit him; so We made them the lower ones. 98 And he said: verily I am going to my Lord who will guide me. 99 My Lord, grant me [a child] from among the righteous." 100 whereupon We gave him the glad tiding of a boy-child gentle [like himself]? 101 And when he attained the age of running with him, he said: O my son! verily I have seen in a dream that I am slaughtering thee; so look, what considerest thou? He said: O my father! do that which thou art commanded; thou shalt find me, Allah willing, of the patients. 102 And when they had both submitted, and his son had laid down prostrate upon his forehead, 103 We called unto him: O Abraham! 104 you have confirmed your vision' As such We recompense the gooddoers. 105 This was indeed a plain trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice, 107 And left (his hallowed memory) for posterity. 108 "Peace be upon Abraham!" 109 Thus indeed do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 110 Verily he was one of Our believing bondmen. 111 We gave Abraham the good news of Isaac, a prophet and a righteous man, 112 and We blessed him and Isaac: but among the offspring of these two there were [destined] to be both doers of good and such as would glaringly sin against themselves. 113
