And We delivered the Children of Israel from the shameful doom; 30 from Pharaoh; surely he was a high One, of the prodigals; 31 And We chose them (the Children of Israel) above the 'Alamin (mankind, and jinns) [during the time of Musa (Moses)] with knowledge, 32 and sent them revelations of which some were a clear trial for them. 33 Lo! these, forsooth, are saying: 34 "There is nothing beyond our first death, and we shall not be raised again. 35 Bring back to life our fathers if what you say is true". 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba' and those before them? We destroyed them, [for] indeed, they were criminals. 37 And We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, in play. 38 We created them with definite purpose; but most of them do not understand. 39 Indeed the Day of Decision is the appointment for all of them. 40 The Day when no protector can avail his client in aught, and no help can they receive, 41 Save those on whom Allah will have mercy. Verily He! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 42
