The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ EXTOL the limitless glory of thy Sustainer's name: [the glory of] the Al-Highest, 1 who has created and shaped, 2 Who determines and directs, 3 Who brings out the pastures 4 then made it a blackening wrack. 5 We shall make you recite (the Qur'an) so that you will not forget it, 6 except what Allah should wish. He knows all that is manifest and all that is hidden. 7 And We shall make easy unto thee the easy way. 8 So remind, if the reminder should benefit; 9 Soon whoever fears will heed advice. 10 But it will be avoided by the wretched, 11 he who [in the life to come] shall have to endure the great fire 12 Wherein he shall neither die nor live, 13 He indeed hath attained bliss who hath cleansed himself, 14 And remembers (glorifies) the Name of his Lord (worships none but Allah), and prays (five compulsory prayers and Nawafil additional prayers). 15 Nay (behold), ye prefer the life of this world; 16 Though the life to come is better and abiding. 17 This indeed is what is taught in the former scriptures -- 18 The Books of Abraham and Moses. 19
