Nay, by the moon, 32 by the retreating night, 33 and the morn when it dawns! 34 Verily, it (Hell, or their denial of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, or the Day of Resurrection) is but one of the greatest calamities. 35 a warning to humans, 36 to whoever of you desires to go forward or lag behind. 37 Every person is a pledge for what he has earned, 38 save the People of the Right Hand 39 In Gardens they will question 40 From the guilty. 41 “What drove you to Hell?” 42 They will reply, "We did not pray, 43 And did not feed the needy, 44 "But we used to talk vanities with vain talkers; 45 and we gave the lie to the Day of Judgement 46 Till death overtook us. 47 The mediation of no mediators will avail them then. 48 Then what is the matter with them that they turn away from admonition?- 49 as though they were terrified asses 50 Fleeing from a lion! 51 Is it that everyone of them wants to receive a heavenly book addressed to him personally? 52 Nay, verily. They fear not the Hereafter. 53 By no means! Verily this Qur'an is an admonition. 54 So whosoever willeth may heed it. 55 But they will not benefit from it unless Allah Himself so wills. He is worthy to be feared; and He is worthy to forgive (those that fear Him). 56
