The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the Mount, 1 and by the Book in lines 2 In a Scroll unfolded; 3 By the House Frequented. 4 By the roof elevated. 5 And [by] the sea filled [with fire], 6 surely, the punishment of your Lord is about to come, 7 There is none can avert it;- 8 On the Day whereon the heaven will shake with an awful shaking. 9 And the mountains will move away with an awful movement. 10 Woe on that Day to those who deny the truth, 11 Who are playing in falsehood. 12 the day when they shall be pitched into the fire of Gehenna: 13 (And told:) "This is the fire which you denied. 14 Is this magic, or do you not see? 15 "Burn ye therein: the same is it to you whether ye bear it with patience, or not: Ye but receive the recompense of your (own) deeds." 16 Those who fear God and follow the straight path will surely be in gardens and in bliss, 17 Enjoying what their Lord has given them, and their Lord protected them from the punishment of Hellfire. 18 Eat and drink with relish for that which ye have been working. 19 (They shall be) reclining on couches ranged in rows and We shall wed them to houris (virgins of Paradise) with large wide eyes. 20 We shall unite the believers with those descendants of theirs who followed them in their faith, and shall not deny them any part of the reward for their good deeds. Every person is pledged to what he did. 21 And We shall succour them with fruits and flesh such as they desire 22 They will therein snatch from one another a cup; therein will be neither vain babble nor sin. 23 ۞ And there will go round boy-servants of theirs, to serve them as if they were preserved pearls. 24 They will advance to each other, engaging in mutual enquiry. 25 saying, "We were afraid while in the world. 26 "But Allah has been gracious to us, and has saved us from the torment of the Fire. 27 We used to pray to Him erstwhile; He is the just and merciful. 28
