(Muhammad), remind them, by the Grace of your Lord, that you are neither a soothsayer or an insane person. 29 Or say they: (he is) a poet, (one) for whom we may expect the accident of time? 30 Say: 'Wait if you will; I shall be waiting with you' 31 Is it that their faculties of understanding urge them to this, or are they but a people transgressing beyond bounds? 32 Or do they say, "He has made it up"? Rather, they do not believe. 33 Let them bring a discourse like thereunto, if they say sooth. 34 Were they created by nothing, or were they themselves the creators? 35 Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Rather they are not certain. 36 Do they possess the treasures of your Lord? Or are they the treasurers? 37 Or, do they have a ladder on which they listen? Then let any of them that has listened bring a clear authority. 38 Has (God) daughters and they sons? 39 Or do you ask them for a reward, so that they are over-burdened by debt? 40 Or is it that they have access to (the Truths in) the realm beyond sense-perception which they are writing down? 41 Or do they intend a plot (against thee)? But those who defy Allah are themselves involved in a Plot! 42 Or do they have a God besides Allah? Purity is to Allah from their ascribing of partners to Him. 43 AND YET, if they [who refuse to see the truth] were to see part of the sky falling down, they would [only] say: "[It is but] a mass of clouds!" 44 Wherefore let them alone, till they meet their Day whereon they shall swoon. 45 The day on which their struggle shall not avail them aught, nor shall they be helped. 46 Surely there are other torments besides this for those who are wicked, though most of them do not know. 47 And be patient, [O Muhammad], for the decision of your Lord, for indeed, you are in Our eyes. And exalt [Allah] with praise of your Lord when you arise. 48 And in the night also hallow Him, and at the setting of the stars. 49
