Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Say: It has been revealed to me that a company of Jinns listened (to the Qur'an). They said, 'We have really heard a wonderful Recital! 1 It guides to the right course, and we have believed in it. And we will never associate with our Lord anyone. 2 And [it teaches] that exalted is the nobleness of our Lord; He has not taken a wife or a son 3 And that the foolish amongst us used to forge extravagant things against Allah: 4 and that “we had thought that men and jinn would never speak a lie about Allah”, 5 And that persons from among men used to seek refuge with persons from among jinn, so they increased them in wrongdoing: 6 And they had thought, as you thought, that Allah would never send anyone [as a messenger]. 7 And we sought to reach the heaven; then we found it filled with a strong guard and darting meteors. 8 And we used to sit on places (high) therein to listen. But he who listeneth now findeth a flame in wait for him; 9 And we know not whether harm is boded unto all who are in the earth, or whether their Lord intendeth guidance for them. 10 ‘And among us some are virtuous and some are the other type; we are split into several branches.’ 11 And we know that we cannot escape from Allah in the earth, nor can we escape by flight. 12 and that “when we heard the teaching of the Right Way we came to believe in it; he who believes in His Lord shall have no fear of suffering loss or being subjected to any injustice”; 13 And some of us have surrendered, and some of us have deviated. Those who have surrendered sought rectitude; 14 And as to the deviators, they are fuel of hell: 15 Would they but go straight on the way, We would give them to drink of water copious, 16 so as to test them by this means: for he who shall turn away from the remembrance of his Sustainer, him will He cause to undergo suffering most grievous. 17 The places of worship belong to God; so call not, along with God, upon anyone. 18 When the worshiper of Allah stood supplicating to Him, they swarmed around him (Prophet Muhammad). 19
