Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the emissary winds, (sent) one after another 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force! 2 And by the winds that scatter clouds and rain; 3 thus separating [right and wrong] with all clarity, 4 Then I swear by the angels who bring down the revelation, 5 to excuse some and warn others: 6 Surely, what you are promised must come to pass. 7 When the stars lose their light, 8 And when the heaven is cloven asunder. 9 And when the mountains are carried away as dust, 10 and the appointed time to bring the Messengers together arrives, (then shall the promised event come to pass). 11 For what Day are these signs postponed? 12 For the Day of sorting out (the men of Paradise from the men destined for Hell). 13 And what do you know, what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 15 Did We not destroy [so many of] those [sinners] of olden days? 16 and make others settle after them in their land? 17 As such shall We deal with the sinners. 18 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 19 Did We not create you from a worthless water (semen, etc.)? 20 Then We placed it in a secure resting-place, 21 Till an appointed term, 22 So We did measure, and We are the Best to measure (the things). 23 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 24 Have We not made the earth a housing 25 For the living and the dead, 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and given you fresh water to drink? 27 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 28 Proceed to that which you denied. 29 Depart unto the shadow three branched: 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 Indeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as a fortress, 32 sparks like to golden herds. 33 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 34 This is a Day whereon they shall not be able to speak. 35 And they will not be permitted to put forth any excuse. 36 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 37 This is the Day of Judgement; We will have assembled you and the former peoples. 38 If now ye have any craft, try that craft upon Me. 39 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 40
