Hizb 46
< random >
And indeed, Jonah was among the messengers. 139 When he ran away to a ship completely laden, 140 And then they cast lots and he was the one who lost, 141 and the fish swallowed him while he was blaming himself. 142 Had he not been of them who glorify Allah, 143 he would have lingered in its belly till the Day they are resurrected. 144 ۞ Then We cast him on a bare desert whilst he was sick. 145 And We caused to grow over him a gourd vine. 146 And We sent him (on a mission) to a hundred thousand (men) or more. 147 and they believed in him: so We let them live in ease for a while. 148 So ask their opinion: “(Are you convinced) that your Lord should have daughters and you should have sons? 149 Or did We create the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Oh, verily, it is out of their own [inclination to] falsehood that some people assert, 151 Allah hath begotten. Allah! verily they tell a lie. 152 Has He chosen daughters in preference to sons? 153 Woe to you! How terrible is your Judgment. 154 “So do you not ponder?” 155 “Or do you have some clear proof?” 156 Then produce your scripture, if you should be truthful. 157 And they have invented a kinship between Him and the jinns, but the jinns know well that they have indeed to appear (before Him) (i.e. they will be brought for accounts). 158 (They say): “Exalted be Allah above what they attribute to Him, 159 Not thus, however, [behave] God's true servants: 160 So neither you nor those you worship 161 Cannot lead astray [turn away from Him (Allah) anyone of the believers], 162 Except one who is (destined) to burn in Hell. 163 There is not one of us (angels) but has his known place (or position); 164 we are the rangers, 165 And indeed, we are those who exalt Allah." 166 What though they would say, 167 Had we but an admonition as had the ancients. 168 we would surely have been Allah's chosen servants.” 169 But when it came to them, they rejected it. They shall soon come to know (the end of such an attitude). 170 And certainly Our word has already gone forth in respect of Our servants, the apostles: 171 That they verily would be helped, 172 and that Our army will be triumphant. 173 So, (O Prophet), leave them alone for a while, 174 And (then) see them, so they too shall see. 175 What, do they seek to hasten Our chastisement? 176 When it lights in their courtyard, how evil will be the morning of them that are warned! 177 And turn away from them for some time. 178 And see thou: they themselves shall presently see. 179 Glory be to your Lord, the Lord of Honor, above what they describe. 180 And peace be on the Messengers! 181 And all praise is to Allah, the Lord Of The Creation. 182
God the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
