The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Woe to the defrauders, 1 Those who, when they take by measure from mankind, exact the full, 2 but when they measure or weigh for others, they reduce! 3 What! Do they not expect that they will be raised? 4 On a grievous day, 5 The Day when (all) mankind will stand before the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)? 6 Nay! Surely the record of the wicked is (preserved) in Sijjin. 7 And what will make thee know whatsoever the record in Sijjin is? 8 The record is a sealed text. 9 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 10 those who deny the Day of Judgement. 11 And none can deny it but the Transgressor beyond bounds the Sinner! 12 When Our revelations are recited before him, he says: "These are fables of long ago." 13 They will never have faith. In fact, their hearts are stained from their deeds. 14 Nay! most surely they shall on that day be debarred from their Lord. 15 Then they shall roast in Hell, 16 Then, it will be said to them: "This is what you used to deny!" 17 Nay! Verily, the Record (writing of the deeds) of Al-Abrar (the pious who fear Allah and avoid evil), is (preserved) in 'Illiyyun. 18 And what will make you know what 'Illiyyun is? 19 A Register inscribed. 20 witnessed by all who have [ever] been drawn close unto God. 21 Verily the virtuous shall be in Bliss; 22 On adorned couches, observing. 23 Thou wilt recognize in their faces the brightness of delight. 24 They will be given a drink of pure wine, sealed, 25 its seal will be of musk -- for this let the aspirants aspire -- 26 and its mixture is Tasneem, 27 a fountain at which the chosen ones shall drink. 28 Those in sin used to laugh at those who believed, 29 When passing by them, they would wink at one another 30 And when they returned to their own folk, they returned jesting; 31 and when they saw them said: 'These are they who are astray' 32 Yet they were not sent to be their guardians. 33 But today the believers are laughing at the unbelievers; 34 as they sit on couches, gazing around. 35 Have the unbelievers been rewarded what they were doing? 36
