Nay, and by the moon, 32 and by the night when it recedes, 33 By the dawn when it lightens! 34 hell is certainly the greatest calamity. 35 A warning to mankind,- 36 To any of you that chooses to go forward (by working righteous deeds), or to remain behind (by commiting sins), 37 Every soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 Except those on the right side. 39 In Gardens they will question 40 About Al-Mujrimun (polytheists, criminals, disbelievers, etc.), (And they will say to them): 41 "what led you into hell?" 42 They will say: "We were not of those who used to offer their Salat (prayers) 43 "Nor we used to feed Al-Miskin (the poor); 44 and we indulged in vain talk with those who indulged in vain talk, 45 and rejected the Day of Judgment 46 "Until there came to us (the Hour) that is certain." 47 So the intercession of the intercessors will not benefit them. (The disbelievers will not have any intercessor.) 48 Then what is the matter with them that they turn away from admonition?- 49 As though they were frightened asses 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 No indeed; each one of them desires that open letters be sent to each of them. 52 This will certainly never be the case! In fact, they are not afraid of the Day of Judgment. 53 Nay, verily. Lo! this is an Admonishment. 54 Let him then who heeds remember it. 55 But they will not remember except as God wills: He is worthy to be feared, and He is worthy of forgiving 56
