Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 and by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Nay, We are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers. 4 Aye! man desireth that he may sin before him. 5 He asketh: When will be this Day of Resurrection? 6 So when vision is dazzled 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 That Day will Man say: "Where is the refuge?" 10 No, there shall be no (place of) refuge. 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat that Day. 12 On that day, people will be informed of all that they had done and all that they were supposed to do. 13 Nay, man will be evidence against himself, 14 even though he offers his excuses. 15 (O Prophet), do not stir your tongue hastily (to commit the Revelation to memory). 16 Ours it is to gather it, and to recite it. 17 When We have recited it, follow its words attentively; 18 Then lo! upon Us (resteth) the explanation thereof. 19 Yet you love this hasty world 20 and are oblivious of the Hereafter. 21 Upon that day faces shall be radiant, 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 And [some] faces, that Day, will be contorted, 24 believing that a crushing calamity is about to strike them. 25 But, when (the soul) reaches the collar bone 26 And it will be said: "Who can cure him and save him from death?" 27 And the dying one is certain that it is the [time of] separation 28 And anguish will be heaped upon anguish: 29 To your Lord then will be the driving. 30
