The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 Followed by the second blast, 7 (Some) hearts that Day will shake with fear and anxiety. 8 Cast down will be (their owners') eyes. 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 They say: “That will then be a return with a great loss!” 12 But it shall be only a single cry, 13 And they will wake up suddenly. 14 Has Moses' story reached you? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 'Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent. 17 And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)", 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 but he denied it and refused [the faith]. 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 Saying: "I am your lord, most high", 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
