The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 when the mountains shall be set in motion, 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 the oceans are brought to a boil, 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 And when the garden is brought nigh, 13 then shall a soul know what it has produced. 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 by the night when it approaches 17 by the dawn sighing, 18 Verily this is the word of a noble message-bearer; 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). 21 And your companion is not gone mad. 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 So where are you going? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 For the one among you who wishes to become upright. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
