'Lord' said Moses, 'expand my chest, 25 And make my affair easy to me, 26 Unloose the knot upon my tongue, 27 that they may understand my words. 28 "And appoint for me a helper from my family, 29 Let it be my brother Aaron 30 "Add to my strength through him, 31 “And make him a partner in my task.” 32 that we may abundantly extol Your glory; 33 “And profusely remember You.” 34 Verily, You have always watched over us." 35 Said He: "Thou art granted all that thou hast asked for, O Moses! 36 And certainly We bestowed on you a favor at another time; 37 when We revealed Our will to your mother, saying, 38 Saying: Throw him into the ark, and throw it into the river, then the river shall throw it on to the bank, and there an enemy to Me and an enemy to him shall take him. And I endued thee with love from Me that thou mightest be trained according to My will, 39 [And We favored you] when your sister went and said, 'Shall I direct you to someone who will be responsible for him?' So We restored you to your mother that she might be content and not grieve. And you killed someone, but We saved you from retaliation and tried you with a [severe] trial. And you remained [some] years among the people of Madyan. Then you came [here] at the decreed time, O Moses. 40 I have chosen you for Myself. 41 "Go, thou and thy brother, with My Signs, and slacken not, either of you, in keeping Me in remembrance. 42 Then go to the Pharaoh as he has become exceedingly rebellious. 43 Then say to him a gentle saying; haply he may be admonished or he may fear. 44 The twain said: O our Lord! verily we fear that he may hasten against us or wax exorbitant. 45 He said: "Fear not: for I am with you: I hear and see (everything). 46 Go to him and say, 'We are both messengers from your Lord. Let the Children of Israel go with us, and do not oppress them. We have brought you a Sign from your Lord, and may peace be upon whoever follows the right guidance; 47 for, behold, it has been revealed to us that [in the life to come] suffering shall befall all who give the lie to the truth and turn away [from it]!"' 48 [Pharaoh] said, "So who is the Lord of you two, O Moses?" 49 He said: "Our Lord is He Who gave to each (created) thing its form and nature, and further, gave (it) guidance." 50 Pharaoh asked, "What about the previous generations?" 51 Moses said: "Its knowledge is with my Lord, recorded in the Book. My Lord does not err, nor does He forget." 52 It is God who has made the earth as a cradle for you with roads for you to travel. He has sent water from the sky to produce various pairs of plants. 53 Eat and pasture your cattle; most surely there are signs in this for those endowed with understanding. 54
