The people of Lot rejected the Messengers. 160 When their fellowman Lut said to them, “Do you not fear?” 161 "Verily! I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 162 Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me: 163 “And I do not ask from you any fee for it; my reward is only upon the Lord Of The Creation.” 164 What, do you come to the males of the world, 165 and leave your wives whom your Lord has created for you? You are a people who transgress all bounds." 166 They said: "If you do not desist, O Lot, you will be expelled (from the city)." 167 He said, 'Truly I am a detester of what you do. 168 “My Lord, rescue me and my family from their deeds.” 169 We saved him and all of his family 170 Except one old woman who remained behind. 171 But the rest We destroyed utterly. 172 And We rained on them a rain (of torment). And how evil was the rain of those who had been warned. 173 Surely in this there is a sign: but most of them would not believe: 174 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might Most Merciful. 175
