The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Merciful One 1 Bestowed the Qur'an, 2 He created man 3 [And] taught him eloquence. 4 The sun and the moon follow courses (exactly) computed; 5 The stars and the trees prostrate themselves. 6 And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance 7 so that you [too, O men,] might never transgress the measure [of what is right]: 8 Always measure with justice and do not give short measure. 9 It is He Who has spread out the earth for (His) creatures: 10 There are fruits of all kinds on it, and date-palms with their clusters sheathed, 11 and grain growing tall on its stalks, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 13 He created the human being from clay like that used for pottery 14 and jinn from the many colored flames of fire. 15 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 16 Lord of the two Easts, Lord of the two Wests. 17 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 18 He has let forth the two seas, they meet together, 19 In-between the twain is a barrier which they pass not. 20 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 21 Pearls and corals come from both. 22 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny? 23 And His are the ships reared aloft in the sea like mountains. 24 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 25
