The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 And those who undo the bonds gently, 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 And those who race each other in a race 4 Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 and will be followed by another quaking. 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 After having turned to carious bones?" 11 They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 When, behold, they find themselves over the earth alive after their death, 14 Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 15 His Lord called to him in the Sacred Valley of Towa, 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)", 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 Then he turned back striving. 22 Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. 26
