He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away. 1 Because a blind man came to him. 2 But what could tell thee but that perchance he might grow (in spiritual understanding)?- 3 Or be reminded and the remembrance would benefit him? 4 Yet you pay attention 5 Unto him thou payest regard. 6 although it is not for you to be concerned if he remained unpurified. 7 But as for him who cometh unto thee with earnest purpose 8 and fearfully, 9 From him thou art distracted. 10 By no means! Verily it is an admonition. 11 So whosoever willeth - let him be admonished therewlth. 12 (This Quran) is also recorded in honorable books, 13 most exalted and purified, 14 (Set down) by scribes 15 noble, pious. 16 May (the disbelieving) human being be condemned! What makes him disbelieve? 17 From what stuff hath He created him? 18 From Nutfah (male and female semen drops) He created him, and then set him in due proportion; 19 then the way eased for him, 20 Then He caused him to die and be buried 21 Then, when it is His Will, He will resurrect him (again). 22 Nay, but (man) has not done what He commanded him. 23 Then let man look at his food, 24 We poured water, pouring it in great abundance, 25 Then We split the earth properly. 26 Thereby produced grain in it. 27 And grapes and herbage 28 Olives and dates, 29 thickly planted gardens, 30 And fruits and Abba (herbage, etc.), 31 A provision for you and for your cattle. 32 At length, when there comes the Deafening Noise,- 33 on the Day when each man shall flee from his brother, 34 And his mother and his father, 35 And his wife and his sons; 36 every man that day shall have business to suffice him. 37 Many faces will that day be bright, 38 laughing, rejoicing at glad tidings. 39 whereas some faces will be covered with dust 40 Darkness shall cover them. 41 These are they who are unbelievers, the wicked. 42
