Muhammad (Muhammad)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Allah has caused the works of those who disbelieve and hinder people from the way of Allah to go to waste. 1 As for those who attained to faith and did righteous works and believed in what was revealed to Muhammad -- which indeed is the Truth from their Lord -- Allah has remitted their evil deeds and has set their condition right. 2 That is because those who disbelieve follow the falsehood, and those who believe follow the truth from their Lord. And thus Allah propoundeth unto mankind their similitude. 3 So when you meet in battle those who disbelieve, then smite the necks until when you have overcome them, then make (them) prisoners, and afterwards either set them free as a favor or let them ransom (themselves) until the war terminates. That (shall be so); and if Allah had pleased He would certainly have exacted what is due from them, but that He may try some of you by means of others; and (as for) those who are slain in the way of Allah, He will by no means allow their deeds to perish. 4 He will guide them and set their condition right 5 And He will admit them into Paradise – they have been made familiar with it. 6 O you who believe! If you help (in the cause of) Allah, He will help you, and make your foothold firm. 7 But as for the unbelievers, ill chance shall befall them! He will send their works astray. 8 That was because they were averse to what Allah had revealed; so He let their works go to waste. 9 ۞ So did they not travel in the land to see what sort of fate befell those who preceded them? Allah poured ruin upon them; and for the disbelievers are several like it. 10 That is because Allah is patron of those who believe, and because the disbelievers have no patron. 11
