Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Nay! I swear by the day of resurrection. 1 and by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yea! We are able to make complete his very fingertips 4 In fact, people want to have eternal life in this world. 5 He asks, "When will be the Day of Judgment?" 6 but when the sight is dazed 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and moon will be joined together (by going one into the other or folded up or deprived of their light, etc.) 9 on that Day will man exclaim "Whither to flee?" 10 No! There is no refuge. 11 Unto thy Lord is the recourse that day. 12 Then man will be told what he had sent ahead (of good) and what he had left behind. 13 But lo, man is well aware of himself, 14 Even though he were to put up his excuses. 15 (Muhammad), do not move your tongue too quickly to recite the Quran. 16 It's gathering and reciting is upon Us. 17 So, when We recite it, follow thou its recitation. 18 and then, behold, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 No! But you love the immediate 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 On that day, some faces will shine with freshness. 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 And (other) faces on that day shall be gloomy, 24 Fearing that a great disaster is going to befall them. 25 But when [man's soul] reaches the throat, 26 And they will say, “Is there any one – any magician?” 27 the while he [himself] knows that this is the parting, 28 And one shin will curl up with the other shin. 29 To your Lord then will be the driving. 30
