The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the heavens and that which comes in the night -- 1 And have you understood what the nightly arriver is? 2 It is the piercing star - 3 There is no living being but there is a protector over it. 4 So let man consider of what he was created. 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 which comes out of the loins and ribs. 7 God has certainly power to bring him back (from the dead). 8 A day when the secrets will be examined. 9 Then man will have no power or any helper. 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 and by the earth ever bursting with verdure, 12 Indeed the Qur’an is a decisive Word. 13 And is not a matter of amusement. 14 They are planning a scheme, 15 and I too am devising a guile. 16 Let, then, the deniers of the truth have their will: let them have their will for a little while. 17
