The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
36 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Spider (Al-Ankaboot) before The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
WOE TO THOSE who give short measure, 1 those who demand a full measure from others 2 But when they measure out to others or weigh out for them, they are deficient. 3 Imagine such men not that they shall be raised up? 4 for a great Day, 5 A Day whereon mankind shall stand before the Lord of the worlds? 6 Woe to them! Let them know that the records of the sinner's deeds are in Sijin. 7 Would that you knew what Sijin is!? 8 A record [indelibly] inscribed! 9 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 10 those who deny the Day of Judgement. 11 for, none gives the lie to it but such as are wont to transgress against all that is [and are] immersed in sin: 12 Who, when thou readest unto him Our revelations, saith: (Mere) fables of the men of old. 13 No indeed; but that they were earning has rusted upon their hearts. 14 On the Day of Judgment, they will certainly be barred from the mercy of their Lord. 15 Further, they will enter the Fire of Hell. 16 Then it will be said: 'this is that which ye were wont to belie.' 17 But, the Book of the righteous is in the 'Illiyoon. 18 And what can make you know what is 'illiyyun? 19 It is a comprehensively written Book (of records). 20 The ones nearest to God will bring it to public. 21 Indeed the virtuous are in serenity. 22 On adorned couches, observing. 23 You shall see upon their faces the glow of bliss. 24 They will be served a drink of the finest sealed wine, 25 Its seal is upon musk; and for this should those who crave be eager. 26 And its mixture is of Tasneem, 27 a source [of bliss] whereof those who are drawn close unto God shall drink. 28 Those in sin used to laugh at those who believed, 29 when they passed by them, they would wink at one another; 30 and when they returned to their people they returned blithely, 31 and when they saw them said: 'These are they who are astray' 32 Yet they were not sent to be their guardians. 33 But on this Day the believers will laugh at the unbelievers 34 seated upon their couches, they are looking around. 35 Are not the disbelievers paid for what they used to do? 36
True are the words of God the Almighty.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
