The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Glorify the name of your Lord, the Most High, 1 who created all things and gave them due proportions, 2 and who determines the nature [of all that exists,] and thereupon guides it [towards its fulfilment,] 3 who brings forth green pasture, 4 And then doth make it (but) swarthy stubble. 5 We shall make you recite and then you will not forget, 6 save what God may will [thee to forget] - for, verily, He [alone] knows all that is open to [man's] perception as well as all that is hidden [from it] 7 And We will ease you toward ease. 8 Therefore do remind, surely reminding does profit. 9 in mind will keep it he who stands in awe [of God,] 10 And the most unfortunate one will avoid it, 11 he who [in the life to come] shall have to endure the great fire 12 Wherein he shall neither die nor live, 13 Surely he will succeed who grows in goodness, 14 And glorify the name of their Guardian-Lord, and (lift their hearts) in prayer. 15 But you prefer the present life, 16 While the hereafter is better and more lasting. 17 Surely this is in the ancient scrolls, 18 The scriptures of Ibrahim and Musa. 19
