The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Recite in the name of your Lord Who created, 1 Createth man from a clot. 2 Proclaim! And thy Lord is Most Bountiful,- 3 Who taught by the pen, 4 Taught man what he knew not. 5 Nay, surely man transgresses; 6 Because he considers himself self-sufficient. 7 truly, all will return to your Lord. 8 Did you see him who forbids 9 a servant of Ours from prayer? 10 Hast thou seen if he relieth on the guidance (of Allah) 11 Or enjoins Righteousness? 12 What will happen if the prohibiting rejects the Truth and turns away from it!? 13 Did he not realise that Allah is watching? 14 Nay! if he desist not, We would certainly smite his forehead, 15 A lying, sinning forelock. 16 Then, let him call upon his council (of helpers), 17 We too shall summon the guards of Hell. 18 Beware! Do not obey him, but bow in adoration and draw near (to your Lord). ۩ 19
