Relate the news of Abraham to them. 69 When he said unto his father and his people: what worship ye? 70 They said: "We worship idols, and to them we are ever devoted." 71 He said, "Do they hear you when you supplicate? 72 Or do they benefit or harm you? 73 They said, "But we found our fathers doing thus." 74 He said: 'Have you considered what you worship, 75 “You and your forefathers preceding you.” 76 Verily they are an enemy unto me, save the Lord of the worlds. 77 Who hath created me, and He guideth me. 78 and He gives me to eat and drink, 79 “And when I fall ill, so it is He Who heals me.” 80 "And Who will cause me to die, and then will bring me to life (again); 81 "And who, I hope, will forgive me my faults on the day of Judgment. 82 My Lord! Vouchsafe me wisdom and unite me to the righteous. 83 give me a good name among later generations; 84 and place me among those who shall inherit the garden of bliss! 85 And forgive my father, for surely he is of those who have gone astray; 86 And humiliate me not on the Day whereon people shall be raised. 87 on the Day of Judgment when neither wealth nor children will be of any benefit 88 but only he that brings to Allah a sound heart will (attain to success)." 89 And the Garden will be brought nigh for those who ward off (evil). 90 And the Fierce Fire shall be made apparent unto the seduced ones. 91 who will be asked, "What did you worship 92 beside Allah? Can they be of any help to you, or even be of any help to themselves?" 93 The idol worshippers, the idols, the rebellious ones, 94 And the soldiers of Iblees, all together. 95 And they will say while they dispute with one another, 96 "By Allah, we were surely in clear error 97 “When we considered you equal to the Lord Of The Creation.” 98 And no one misguided us except the criminals. 99 Now we have no intercessors 100 nor do we have a truly sincere friend. 101 O that we might return again, and be among the believers!' 102 Verily! In this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 103 surely, your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 104
