Hizb 38
< random >
The people of Noah [too] gave the lie to [one of God's] message-bearers 105 When their fellowman Nooh said to them, “Do you not fear?” 106 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 107 so fear Allah and obey me. 108 I ask no recompense of you for it. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 109 So fear Allah and obey me' 110 ۞ They said: "Shall we believe in you, when the meanest (of the people) follow you?" 111 Noah said: "What knowledge do I have about their deeds? 112 Their account is only with my Lord, if you could perceive 113 "And I am not going to drive away the believers. 114 I am only a plain admonisher." 115 They said, 'If thou givest not over, Noah, thou shalt assuredly be one of the stoned.' 116 He said, “My Lord, my people have denied me.” 117 Therefore judge You between me and them, and save me and those of the believers who are with me." 118 So We saved him and those with him in a laden ship. 119 Then afterward We drowned the others. 120 Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 121 And lo, thy Lord, He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 122

Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
