And indeed We rescued the Descendants of Israel from a disgraceful torture. 30 from Pharaoh, who ranked high in sin, 31 And certainly We chose them, having knowledge, above the nations. 32 And We gave them portents wherein was a clear trial. 33 As to these (Quraish), they say forsooth: 34 "There is nothing but our first death, and we shall not be resurrected. 35 Bring back to life our fathers if what you say is true". 36 Are these better or the people of Tubba and those who went before them? We destroyed them for they were a criminal people. 37 And We did not create the heavens and earth and that between them in play. 38 We created them not except for just ends: but most of them do not understand. 39 The Day of Judgement is your promised day of meeting, 40 A day when friend can in naught avail friend, nor can they be helped, 41 Save those on whom Allah will have mercy. Verily He! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 42
