Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Nay! I swear by the day of resurrection. 1 But nay! I call to witness the accusing voice of man's own conscience! 2 Does man think that We will not assemble his bones? 3 Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very fingers! 4 Nay, but man desires to continue on as a libertine, 5 'When will the Day of Resurrection be' he asks, 6 But [on that Day,] when the eyesight is by fear confounded, 7 and the moon eclipsed, 8 when the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 On that day man will cry: Whither to flee! 10 No! There is no refuge. 11 Upon that day the recourse shall be to thy Lord. 12 On that day man is told the tale of that which he hath sent before and left behind. 13 Nay! Man will be a witness against himself [as his body parts (skin, hands, legs, etc.) will speak about his deeds]. 14 even though he offer his excuses. 15 MOVE NOT thy tongue in haste, [repeating the words of the revelation:] 16 It is for Us to collect it and to give you (O Muhammad SAW) the ability to recite it (the Quran), 17 And when We read it, follow thou the reading; 18 then it will be for Us to explain it. 19 Nay; the truth is that you love ardently (the good of this world) that can be obtained hastily, 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 How many faces will be refulgent on that Day, 22 gazing towards their Lord. 23 And countenances on that Day shall be scowling. 24 Thou wilt know that some great disaster is about to fall on them. 25 No! When the soul has reached the collar bones 26 And it is cried. who can charm? 27 (the angels of mercy or the angels of wrath,)" then, he will realize that it is time to leave this world. 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 On that Day you will be driven to your Lord. 30
