And the chiefs of his people, who disbelieved and denied the Meeting in the Hereafter, and on whom We had bestowed the good things of this life, said: "He is no more than a man like yourselves: he eats of that of which ye eat, and drinks of what ye drink. 33 and, indeed, if you pay heed to a mortal like yourselves, you will surely be the losers! 34 “Does he promise you that when you die and turn into dust and bones, you will be raised again?” 35 ۞ After, after with that which you are promised! 36 There is nothing but our present life; we die, and we live, and we shall not be resurrected. 37 “He is just a man who has fabricated a lie against Allah, and we are not going to believe him.” 38 The Messenger prayed, "Lord, help me; they have called me a liar". 39 Answered (the Lord): "They shall wake up repenting soon." 40 The blast justly struck them and We reduced them to rubble. Away with such wicked people! 41 Then, after them, We created other generations. 42 [for,] no community can ever forestall [the end of] its term - and neither can they delay [its coming]. 43 Thereafter We sent Our apostles, successively. So oft as there came unto a community their apostle, they belied him, so We made them follow one another, and We made them bywords; so away with a people who believe not! 44 Then We sent Musa and his brother Haroun, with Our communications and a clear authority, 45 To Firon and his chiefs, but they behaved haughtily and they were an insolent people. 46 They said: "Shall we believe in two men like ourselves, and their people are obedient to us with humility (and we use them to serve us as we like)." 47 So they accused them of falsehood, and they became of those who were destroyed. 48 And indeed We gave Musa (Moses) the Scripture, that they may be guided. 49 And We made the son of Mary and his mother a portent, and We gave them refuge on a height, a place of flocks and watersprings. 50
