The people of Lot rejected the Messengers. 160 When their brother Lot said to them: 'Will you not be cautious? 161 I am for you a faithful Messenger, 162 “Therefore fear Allah and obey me.” 163 "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the lord of the Worlds. 164 What! Of all creatures do ye come unto the males, 165 “And leave the wives your Lord has created for you? In fact you are people who exceed the limits.” 166 'Lot' they replied, 'if you do not desist, you shall be thrown out' 167 He said: verily I am of those who abhor your work. 168 My Lord, save me and my family from [the consequence of] what they do." 169 So We delivered him and his family,- all 170 all but an old woman, who was among those that stayed behind; 171 We destroyed the others 172 And We rained on them a rain. So ill was the rain on those warned? 173 Verily, in this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
