۞ Proclaim, “I advise you just one thing; that stand up for Allah's sake, in twos and ones, and then think”; there is not a trace of insanity in this companion of yours; he is not but a Herald of Warning for you, before the advent of a severe punishment! 46 Say thou: whatsoever hire I might have asked of you is yours; my hire is with Allah only. And He is of everything a Witness. 47 Say: 'My Lord hurls the truth the Knower of the Unseen' 48 Say: "The truth has now come [to light, and falsehood is bound to wither away]: for, falsehood cannot bring forth anything new, nor can it bring back [what has passed away]." 49 Say: "If I am in error it is to my own loss; if I am on guidance that is so because of what my Lord reveals to me. He is all-hearing and all-too-near." 50 Couldst thou but see when they are terrified with no escape, and are seized from near at hand, 51 and they say, 'We believe in it'; but how can they reach from a place far away, 52 seeing they disbelieved in it before, guessing at the Unseen from a place far away? 53 A gulf will exist between them and their desires on the Day of Judgment like the similar people who lived before. They, too, had lived in doubt and uncertainty (about the life hereafter). 54
