The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
The Hour has drawn nigh: the moon is split. 1 Yet if they see a sign (the unbelievers) turn their backs and say: 'This is but a continuation of sorcery' 2 They also gave the lie to (the splitting asunder of the moon) and only followed their desires. Yet everything is destined to reach an end. 3 And indeed there has come to them news (in this Quran) wherein there is (enough warning) to check (them from evil), 4 Consummate wisdom-- but warnings do not avail; 5 So (O Muhammad SAW) withdraw from them. The Day that the caller will call (them) to a terrible thing. 6 They will come forth,- their eyes humbled - from (their) graves, (torpid) like locusts scattered abroad, 7 Hastening toward the summoner. The infidels will say: this is a day diffrcult. 8 ۞ There belied before them the people of Nuh. So they belied Our bondman and said: a madman; and moreover he was reproven. 9 So he cried unto his Lord, saying: I am vanquished, so give help. 10 So We opened the gates of heaven, with water pouring forth. 11 And caused the earth to gush forth springs, so that the waters met for a predestined purpose. 12 And We carried Nooh upon a ship of wooden planks and nails. 13 Sailing in front of Our sight; as a reward for the sake of one who was rejected. 14 And indeed, We have caused such [floating vessels] to remain forever a sign [of Our grace unto man]: who, then, is willing to take it to heart? 15 How then were My punishment and My warnings! 16 And We have indeed made the Qur’an easy to memorise, so is there one who would remember? 17 The tribe of A’ad denied – so how did My punishment turn out, and My warnings? 18 On an unfortunate day We sent upon them a continuous violent wind 19 Extracting the people as if they were trunks of palm trees uprooted. 20 Then see how (dreadful) was My punishment after My warnings! 21 Easy have We made the Qur'an to understand: So is there any one who will pay heed? 22
